Looks like I’ll be hurt a bit worse if I get into another accident with my next vehicle. I guess that’s a good incentive to not eat hamburgers in the car anymore.
But anyway, I’m surprised how decently the truck held up in that test. It’s not gonna drive away, but the cabin is pretty much intact. I was worried it would crumble like a tin can, because if I’m honest, the general design of the Colorado looks very fragile. I’m not sure why, but it doesn’t look like a strong vehicle.
I don’t know what I’m getting at here, anyway. I’m just excited to have my own vehicle again, and I’m especially excited to have a pickup for once. I get lots of brand new furniture at work, and usually we just have to take it to the dump, but I’m allowed to keep some. I'll probably get a nice electronically reclining couch with a built-in cooler/minifridge and USB charging ports and stuff. We've already had a few dozen like that, but I had no way to take one home before.

let’s be honest, no matter what you do there will always be risk of death and injury , just ignore it, enjoy what you drive and move on.
if it happens, it happens

Ye ah, that’s usually my attitude about pretty much everything. My friend gets mad at me for talking about politics in public because usually I have the exact opposite opinion of the kind of person who would sucker-punch me for it, but meh. I don't go out of my way to put myself in danger, but I'm not gonna let myself act differently out of fear. Same goes for driving; I'm taking the Colorado up to the Oppo meet at the Dragon next month, and I'm not going to *completely* baby it.

Looks like some ugly footwell intrusion, but that’s an overlap test so it would probably be ok in direct hit. In any event while a 2004 car is going to be at a disadvantage, it shouldn’t be a death trap, and being bigger should help (though it makes things worse for everyone else).

One of the many reasons I love my car. This model was designed 25 years ago and the crash tests look as good as any modern car. Only way to be safer is to put some wheels on a bank vault.
